are the roads from montreal to mont tremblant too curvy to drive on at this time with so much snow?
I have been driving for the past 15 years but have started driving on snow last year onwards. My car is a four wheel drive with snow tyres. i am not sure what the route from montreal to tremblant is like.

Most days it wil be no problem. Tremblant is a tourist destination and unless there is a blinding blizzard, the road will be clean. Just use common sense and if you are worried try to travel during daylight.

This is a great government site for road conditions.

Marker Griffon Schizos bindings on my Salomon Lord skis? Opinions?

December 252009

Should I put them on, I like the idea of the 6cm of movement available.

I ski alot of Blue Mountain, but I always plan 3 trips to big resorts.

1 week - Whistler Blackcomb - 5 days skiing
1 week - Tremblant - 5 days skiing
1 week - Kicking Horse or Big White - 5 days

I get about 15 days of nice powder when I go on the trips and like to explore, like the gromers and hard packs and hit jumps and rails for fun.

With the capability of center, traditional, and set more back, I think I would get good use from the technology built in the binding, combined with around 30 days of skiing.

Any other bindings you can recommened, and are there any other bindings on the market with this technology?

Buy them. They are really good bindings, and definitely worth the money.

I live in Montreal, like half an hour from Tremblant where her accident happened and I was on my drive home from work and on the radio, I heard that it was confirmed that she was taken off life support. Is it true ? I w was praying for her and hoping she made it through it. I heard her family was going to say their final goodbyes to her earlier in the day today. What’s the real confirmed news ?

They removed her from life support yesterday. She passed away at 5 pm….

She was a great loss in this Industry. May God rest her soul.

My deepest condolences to the Neeson, Redgrave and Richardson Family.

She was a great and talented actress, a loving wife and mother to Liam and sons, Micheal and Daniel; wonderful daughter to Vanessa Redgrave and Tony Richradson (as well to Franco Nero) and an understanding sister to Joely and Carlo. She will surely be missed…

I am looking for a shuttle or some way to get from Ottawa, ON to Mont Tremblant, PQ.?

I am looking to get from Ottawa to Mont Tremblant for snowboarding. I do not have a car and am only 22 so renting is a little too expensive. I would like to find a shuttle service or something if anyone knows of something.

Thanks,

You could do some research to see if there’s a bus company that leaves Ottawa to go to Mont-Tremblant, but I’m not really sure. Are you going with friends, people you know? Maybe you could try car-pooling? Good luck!

What are the best ski mountains in Quebec? Tremblant discluded!?

December 92009

My friends and i are looking to go on a ski trip to Quebec in February 2010 and are wondering what are the best mountains in the area! We went to Tremblant last year and are looking for somewhere similar. Were all males between the ages 23-26 so want there to be a good nightlife as well. I’ve been unsuccessful with searching on the net because it is saturated with information on Tremblant and Mount St. Anne. Please help!!

I assume you want a big mountain, so your best choice is Le Massif du sud, or Le Massif de Charlevoix. Personally, I recommend Le Massif de Charlevoix. REALLY sick ski hill. Not the highest number of runs, but it does have a higher vertical drop than Tremblant or Mont St Anne. It isn’t the greatest for nightlife, but it is only a 1 hour drive from Quebec City. The skiing conditions are amazing, and the views are like nothing else you’ll see skiing in Quebec.

That being said, if you have great skiing where you live, and you just want nightlife and partying, then go to Bromont in the eastern townships, and go back to Montreal for the nightlife. Its only like a 40 minute drive, and the mountain is better than anything you’ll get out of any mountain south of Tremblant.

First pair of Twin Tips. What should I buy?

December 62009

I have never had twin tips before but im looking to get more into freestyle skiing. I’m 15 years old, 6"1 and about 147 pounds. I usually ski east coast (where I live) like southern ontario skiing, and occasionally will go out west to Whistler for March Break. I also ski Mont Tremblant. I would consider myself an advanced skier and usually ski moguls, occasionally will go in the park, and piste. I’m not looking to spend to much as I’m only 15 and will probably grow more, so around the $250 mark would be nice.
I guess my price is a bit cheap so I think $300 - $375 is good
Also, what is a good length for me?

Well I would recommend the K2 extreme because it is suppose to be the best all around twin tip ski. It’s mostly great with moguls in turning and getting around them. Also its great with rails and box’s in the terrain park because of it’s special side wall material. I think its around $350 though.
